The Book of Dreaming
The Book of Dreaming is a series of guidebooks created by young people in four different parts of Europe: Poland (Wrocław), Latvia (Riga/Ludza), Hungary (Budapest) and Ukraine (Lviv). Supported by us, different groups of young people in each of those places are writing, editing and publishing their own guide to the city in which they live. In particular the project aims to work with displaced Ukrainian children living in those places, as a way to enable them to reflect on and articulate their experience of this fraught and uncertain moment in their lives.
Part fact, part fiction, at once playful and profound, this quartet of guidebooks are at once both a unique record of the modern European city and a portrait of the young people who have participated in the project.
The Book of Dreaming was created in partnership with Pro Progressione (Budapest), Hnat Khotkevych Palace of Culture (Lviv), Art Transparent (Wrocław) and New Theatre Institute of Latvia (Riga) and supported by the European Union.
Below, you will be able to read English language versions of these guidebooks as they are published.
